The month pages show what does leave Norfolk in November and December 2026.

These two sailings show both lengths, with times as Cruisebound listed them on 3 November 2026. Times are local.

Where does the Carnival ship dock in Bermuda?

At the Royal Naval Dockyard, at the west end of the island. Bermuda's Department of Marine and Ports Services, in its 2027 cruise ship schedule dated 12 October 2026, puts every Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Freedom call from Norfolk at Heritage Wharf, except Freedom's call of 26 and 27 October 2027, which is at King's Wharf.

The Bermuda Tourism Authority places both King's Wharf and Heritage Wharf in the Royal Naval Dockyard. Its ferry guide says the Dockyard to St. George's ferry runs from the westernmost point of the island to the easternmost. Hamilton and St. George's are a ferry or bus ride away. The 2028 schedule was not out when we checked on 3 November 2026, so the 2028 berths are not confirmed yet.

What time does the Carnival ship leave Bermuda?

Cruisebound's listings have the ship leaving at 4pm on the second day. Bermuda's 2027 schedule agrees for Carnival Sunshine but has Carnival Freedom leaving at noon on every 2027 call. Until the two match, plan your second day as if the ship leaves at noon, and check the times Carnival gives you for your sailing.

By Cruisebound's times, a Wednesday 10am arrival and Thursday 4pm departure gives you 30 hours alongside. By Bermuda's times for Carnival Freedom it is 26. The schedule itself says times are subject to change for weather and operational reasons.

How do you get from the Royal Naval Dockyard to Hamilton?

By ferry or by bus. The Blue Route ferry runs between Dockyard and Hamilton, and the Bermuda Tourism Authority puts the crossing at 15 to 20 minutes, against 60 minutes by bus. The Government of Bermuda runs buses 7 and 8 between Hamilton and Dockyard, on different roads.

The government's route list sends route 7 by the South Shore beaches, the lighthouse and Somerset, and route 8 by Middle Road, Waterlot Inn and the Clock Tower Mall. Horseshoe Bay is on route 7 in the government's list of popular destinations by bus.

Plan for the Wednesday evening. The Bermuda Tourism Authority says extra boats carry cruise passengers into Hamilton on Wednesday evenings when Harbour Nights takes place, and most of the 6-night Norfolk trips are docked on Wednesday night.

How do you get from Dockyard to St. George's?

The Orange Route ferry runs straight from Dockyard to St. George's along the North Shore. The Bermuda Tourism Authority puts the trip at 45 minutes and says the route runs from May to October. The other way is the Blue Route ferry to Hamilton, then bus 1, 3, 10 or 11 out to St. George's.

The government says a transfer between bus routes is free if you take the next scheduled bus on the connecting route. Ferry transfers are generally not available, except between Hamilton and St. George's via Dockyard. The April 2027 trip arrives before May, when the Bermuda Tourism Authority says the Orange Route season starts, so check the ferry timetable for that date.

How much do Bermuda's buses and ferries cost?

An adult bus fare in cash was $3.50 for up to three zones and $5.00 for a longer trip when we checked the Government of Bermuda's fare table on 3 November 2026. A pass for unlimited buses and ferries cost $19.00 for one day and $31.50 for two. Children under 5 ride free.

The government's fare page was last updated on 6 July 2026.

FareAdultChild
Cash, up to 3 zones$3.50$2.75
Cash, longer trips$5.00$2.75
Token, 3 zones$2.75None listed
Token, 14 zones$4.50None listed
Pass, 1 day$19.00$9.50
Pass, 2 days$31.50$16.00
Pass, 3 days$44.00$22.00

Cash fares take exact change in coins only. The government says dollar bills are not accepted and drivers do not make change. Its zones page lists Royal Naval Dockyard in the 14-zone band. Tokens and passes work on the ferries as well as the buses, and both are sold at the Visitor Information Centre in Dockyard.

Passes run on consecutive days, so a 2-day pass covers both days of a Norfolk trip. At these fares, four longer cash trips in a day cost $20.00 by our arithmetic, so the $19.00 day pass is worth it once you plan two round trips in one day.

Do you need a passport for a Bermuda cruise from Norfolk?

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says U.S. citizens on a closed-loop cruise, one that starts and ends at the same U.S. port and stays in the Western Hemisphere, may use a government-issued photo ID with proof of citizenship such as a birth certificate. Every Norfolk Bermuda trip is a round trip.

CBP also warns that the countries a ship visits may still ask for a passport. If you had to leave the ship in Bermuda and fly home, you would need a passport to enter the United States by air, and CBP says the passport card is not accepted for international flights. Our cruise documents guide has the rest.

The Bermuda destination page lists the same sailings with a link to each, and the table below has every date and fare.
