Cheap and last-minute cruises from Norfolk

A low cruise fare from Norfolk is a starting price for one person in the cheapest cabin listed, with taxes and port fees included. This guide shows where the low fares are on our schedule, what Carnival adds on top and what we can and cannot say about booking late.

What is the cheapest cruise from Norfolk?

On 3 November 2026 the lowest starting fare from Norfolk was $441 per person, with taxes and port fees included. When we wrote this on 3 November 2026, the lowest fares on the whole schedule were 6-night Bahamas trips in January and February, on Carnival Sunshine in 2027 and Carnival Freedom in 2028.

Which cruises from Norfolk cost least per night?

Among round trips, the 8-night Eastern Caribbean trips. On 3 November 2026 the lowest fare per night on any sailing from Norfolk was $63, and on a round trip $71. When we wrote this on 3 November 2026, the round-trip low was an 8-night Eastern Caribbean trip in January, and only the one-way crossing to England came out lower.

The Bahamas trips have the lowest headline fares because most are only 6 nights. An 8-night Eastern Caribbean trip costs more in total but adds two nights, with three ports and two sea days each way. Bermuda and Canada trips sail from spring to fall, away from the January and February low point, and the season guide shows when each route runs.

Which months are cheapest for a cruise from Norfolk?

January and February, when we checked on 3 November 2026. Among round trips, those months had the lowest fares per night in both 2027 and 2028, and June and July the highest. The sailings over Christmas and New Year were among the dearest per night on the whole schedule.

May's lowest per night is the one-way crossing to Dover, not a round trip. The 2028 sailings on our schedule show the same shape: $75 a night at the lowest in January 2028, against $131 in July 2028.

Is the transatlantic cruise from Norfolk a cheap option?

Per night it is the lowest on our schedule, at $63 on 3 November 2026, but it ends in England and getting home costs extra. Carnival Sunshine's 15-night crossing leaves Norfolk on 15 May 2027, calls at Sydney, Nova Scotia, then in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, and arrives at Dover on 30 May.

We do not price flights, so add your fare home from England before you compare it with a round trip. The documents change too. Carnival requires U.S. citizens on transatlantic cruises to carry a passport book valid for at least six months beyond the end of the trip, and the UK requires an electronic travel authorisation, which GOV.UK said cost £20 per person when we checked on 3 November 2026. What does a cruise fare from Norfolk include on this site?

Every fare on this site is per person, for the cheapest cabin listed, with taxes and port fees included, and shows the date we checked it. The cheapest cabin is usually an interior. On a few sailings our record shows only the lowest available fare, without the cabin type, so check the cabin before you compare two fares.

Booking sites do not always show the same total. When we checked on 3 November 2026, Cruisebound's page for Carnival Sunshine's 14 November 2026 sailing gave its interior fare per person excluding taxes and port fees. A figure you see there can therefore sit below ours for the same cabin.

The same page listed breakfast, lunch and dinner, water, juice, coffee and tea, shows and entertainment, and the ship's amenities as included in the fare. Drinks packages, gratuities, Wi-Fi, specialty dining, spa packages and shore excursions were listed as add-ons.

How much do gratuities and extras add to a cheap Norfolk cruise?

Carnival's recommended gratuity was $17 a day for each guest in a standard cabin and $19 in a suite when we checked on 3 November 2026, for every guest aged 2 and older. For two adults that is $34 a day, by our arithmetic, whatever the cabin cost, so it weighs most on the lowest fares.

These were the other daily costs on Carnival's page on 3 November 2026:

• Service charge. Carnival adds 20% to drinks, specialty dining and other paid food.
• CHEERS! drinks package. $83.94 per person per day bought before the cruise, or $89.94 on board, with the service charge included. Every adult in the cabin must buy it if one does. On Norfolk sailings Carnival cannot sell it until 6:00 am on the second day, because of state law, and if you buy it on board that day it charges only for the remaining days.
• Soda only. Bottomless Bubbles was $14.38 per adult per day and $8.34 for guests aged 17 and under.
• Wi-Fi. Plans started at $20.40 a day bought before the cruise, for the Social plan, or $25.00 on board.

You can prepay gratuities when you book, by phone before you sail, or online until 11:59 p.m. ET two days before sailing. Are last-minute cruises from Norfolk cheaper?

We cannot say. This site started recording Norfolk fares in November 2026, too recently to show how a fare moves as sailing gets closer, so we will not guess which way yours will go. Which ship you get depends on the date. Carnival Sunshine sails from Norfolk until her crossing to England on 15 May 2027, and Carnival Freedom's sailings on our schedule start on 23 May 2027. What should you check before booking a Norfolk cruise at short notice?

Your documents first. On a round trip, Carnival boards U.S. citizens with a birth certificate and photo ID, so you need not wait for a passport, though the Bahamas and Bermuda name one in their entry rules. The crossing to Dover needs a passport book and a UK ETA, which Carnival says can take up to three business days.

Carnival's deadlines come close together for a late booking:

• Online check-in. Carnival says it must be done by midnight Eastern time the night before you sail, and that is where you pick your arrival appointment.
• Bookings in the last 24 hours. Carnival says guests who book within 24 hours of sailing go through a secondary security screening.
• Pre-cruise prices. CHEERS! can be bought online until 11:59 pm ET the evening before departure and Wi-Fi until 11:59 pm ET the day before. Both cost more once you are on board.

Does this site sell cheap cruises from Norfolk?
