Hotels near the Norfolk cruise port

The closest hotels to Norfolk's cruise terminal are Glass Light Hotel & Gallery on Granby Street and Hilton Norfolk The Main on Main Street. On our routes each is a 7-minute walk from the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center, and all seven downtown hotels here are within 18 minutes on foot.

• 12 near Norfolk International Airport (ORF), 6 to 10 minutes from the airport terminal and 13 to 16 minutes from the cruise terminal by car

The times are ours, measured on OpenStreetMap from each hotel's address to the terminal building, without traffic. We print no room rates. This site is independent of the hotels, the City of Norfolk and Carnival.

Which hotels are closest to the Norfolk cruise terminal?

Glass Light Hotel & Gallery, at 201 Granby Street, and Hilton Norfolk The Main, at 100 East Main Street, are the closest. Each is a 7-minute walk on our routes, about a third of a mile, or 3 minutes by car. Norfolk Waterside Marriott, at 235 East Main Street, is next at 9 minutes on foot.

The Main's own site puts the Half Moone Cruise Center 0.1 miles away and calls it "a five-minute walk". Our route is 0.34 miles, so plan on 7 minutes.

• 12 minutes: Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel on Waterside Drive, and Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown on Plume Street
• 14 minutes: Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown on West Brambleton Avenue

Can you walk to the Norfolk cruise terminal from a downtown hotel?

Yes. All seven downtown hotels here are within 18 minutes of the terminal on foot, and the four on Granby Street, Main Street and Waterside Drive are within 12. Every route we measured finishes on the Elizabeth River Trail along the water. By car, each hotel is 3 to 5 minutes from the terminal.

Which Norfolk hotels offer a cruise package or park and cruise?

One of the 19 does. Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel sells an Experiences-Cruise Package for a night before or after your cruise, with breakfast for two adults and valet parking at $15 a day off "for the length of the cruise". Its valet rate was $35 a day on 3 November 2026.

Marriott's offer page for the hotel says the package needs at least one night, is available any day of the week and covers stays from 22 July 2026 to 22 July 2027. You book it with promotional code QZR online, or ask for the code when you call the hotel. The page gives no package price and no shuttle. The Sheraton is a 12-minute walk from the terminal on our route.

No other hotel here publishes a cruise package or a park-and-cruise offer that names Norfolk's terminal. What the others say about leaving a car:

• Hilton Norfolk The Main, Hampton Inn & Suites Norfolk-Airport and DoubleTree Norfolk Airport. Each lists Hilton's Park, Stay, & Go offer. Hilton's description, on the Hampton's offer page, is a one-night stay with parking for up to 7 nights and a shuttle to "select airports". It adds that some hotels "may also offer service to nearby cruise ports" and says to check with the hotel first.
• Residence Inn Norfolk Airport. Its Park Here, Fly There offer lets you leave your car at the hotel while you travel. It is written for flights.
• Holiday Inn Express & Suites Norfolk Airport. It offers Park and Fly rates if you ask when you book.
• Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown. It sells Park Then Fly packages through Norfolk's airport.

Is there a hotel shuttle to the Norfolk cruise terminal?

No. None of the 19 hotels here lists a shuttle to the terminal, and the downtown ones are a 7 to 18 minute walk anyway. Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Candlewood Suites near the airport say they have no local shuttle at all. From an airport hotel, plan on a taxi or rideshare, 13 to 16 minutes by car.

Should you stay downtown or near Norfolk Airport before a cruise?

Stay downtown if you want to walk to the ship. All seven hotels there are within 18 minutes on foot and 3 to 5 minutes by car. An airport hotel suits a late flight. The twelve here are 6 to 10 minutes from the ORF terminal and 13 to 16 minutes from the cruise terminal by car, without traffic.

• Downtown. The shortest cruise morning, and the Sheraton has the only cruise package. Parking costs more, $15 to $35 a day, and Glass Light, the Waterside Marriott and the Sheraton publish valet prices only.
• Near ORF. Parking is free or $10 a day, and four hotels run a free airport shuttle. On our route, the ORF terminal is 12.3 miles and 20 minutes from Half Moone by car, and 10.8 miles and 18 minutes on the way back.

Which Norfolk Airport hotels have a free airport shuttle?

Four of the twelve list one, as of 3 November 2026. Hampton Inn & Suites Norfolk-Airport runs from 4 am to midnight. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Norfolk Airport gives no hours. Delta Hotels Norfolk Airport and Fairfield Inn & Suites Virginia Beach/Norfolk Airport run theirs on request. None of the four goes to the cruise terminal.

• No airport shuttle, the hotels say: Home2 Suites by Hilton Norfolk Airport, Tru by Hilton Norfolk Airport, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Norfolk Airport, Candlewood Suites Norfolk Airport and Residence Inn Norfolk Airport.
• Not stated on the pages we read: La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Norfolk, Days Inn by Wyndham Norfolk Airport and Magnuson Hotel Virginia Beach. Ask when you book.

Closest to the airport terminal by car are Delta, Residence Inn Norfolk Airport and the DoubleTree, 6 minutes each on our routes. Closest to Half Moone is Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 13 minutes.

How much is hotel parking near the Norfolk cruise port?

Downtown, published rates on 3 November 2026 ran from $15 a day at Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown to $35 a day for valet at the Sheraton. Near the airport, eight of the twelve hotels list free parking and the other four charge $10 a day. Those are rates while you stay at the hotel, not for a week at sea.

Only the Sheraton's cruise package says your car can stay for the length of the cruise. Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown also posts a weekly self-parking rate of $150, without saying whether it applies while you sail. Ask the hotel, or see the parking guide for the city's lot.

• Free: Hampton Inn & Suites Norfolk-Airport (it says extended parking fees apply), DoubleTree Norfolk Airport (Park & Fly guests pay a fee), Tru, Candlewood Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, La Quinta, Days Inn and Magnuson
• $10 a day: Home2 Suites and Holiday Inn Express & Suites, both with in and out, Delta Hotels and Residence Inn Norfolk Airport
• $15 a day: Wyndham Garden Norfolk Downtown, for cars and SUVs ($50 for buses, trucks and RVs)
• $18 a day self parking: Hilton Norfolk The Main, $33 valet; Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown, whose garage is 7 feet 2 inches high

We found no resort or destination fee on any of the 19 hotels' pages.

What time is check-in and check-out at Norfolk cruise hotels?

Check-out is 11 am at every hotel that states it, except Glass Light Hotel & Gallery, at noon. Check-in is 4 pm at eleven hotels, including all four on the downtown waterfront. It is 3 pm at Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown and, near the airport, at Home2 Suites, Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Candlewood Suites.

The Wyndham pages and the Magnuson give no times. Every Marriott and IHG hotel here sets a minimum check-in age of 21, except the Sheraton, at 18. If you get off the ship hours before you can leave town, the terminal guide covers luggage storage beside the terminal.

Which Norfolk cruise hotels include breakfast?

Nine list a free breakfast, as each page put it on 3 November 2026. Downtown, only Residence Inn Norfolk Downtown does. Near the airport, they are Hampton Inn & Suites, Home2 Suites, Tru, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Residence Inn Norfolk Airport, Fairfield Inn & Suites, La Quinta and Days Inn, which offers "a free light breakfast item".

Courtyard by Marriott Norfolk Downtown says it doesn't offer a free breakfast, and Hilton Norfolk The Main and the DoubleTree charge for it. The Sheraton's cruise package includes breakfast for two adults.

Which Norfolk hotels aren't listed here?

Near the airport, we didn't read the Choice hotels (Comfort Inn & Suites, Sleep Inn and Quality Suites at Lake Wright, and the Econo Lodges), Best Western Center Inn or Red Roof Inn, and we don't fill gaps from travel sites. The Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterfront, across the river, lists no ride to the terminal. Freemason Inn's website wasn't working.
